Located on the premises of IFB Winston-Salem, IFB Optical provides an extensive array of eyewear products. Clients of IFB Optical receive quality eyeglasses, excellent service and complete satisfaction at an exceptional value. IFB Optical offers products at lower prices without compromising quality, craftsmanship or service.

Having achieved ISO 9001 certification, the optical services division of WSIFB guarantees the highest quality workmanship, processes, and materials. All manufactured eyewear meets strict FDA and ANSI standards, and patient satisfaction with IFB optical products is routinely near 100%. For employees in the optical unit, there are many career-expanding opportunities for Upward Mobility. Workers may achieve training for and promotions into customer service, administration, and data entry, as well as training to become ABO certified, where the hourly wage is nearly double that of an employee with no experience.

IFB Optical is:

• A Certified Training Establishment for North Carolina Opticians
• Staffed with North Carolina Licensed Opticians and American Board of Opticianry Certified Opticians
• National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE) certified
• Able to fill prescriptions for contact lenses and eyeglasses
• Equipped with an on-site laboratory that fabricates several types and variations of prescription lenses

Veterans Administration

WSIFB established its optical services business with the Veterans Administration in 2002, forming a relationship with the Veterans Administration that has grown dramatically each year, providing hundreds of technologically sophisticated employment opportunities to blind and visually impaired workers. With optical centers serving veterans in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and New York, WSFIB focuses its expertise to accommodate the individual needs of every VA Hospital served. To achieve dependable on-time delivery, WSIFB maintains a balanced inventory, enabling fulfillment of almost every eyewear order within 72-96 hours.
