Specializing in apparel and mattress manufacturing as well as radio frequency sealing, the IFB facility in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico manufactures a variety of military uniforms and clothing articles that require sophisticated sewing skills, including the U.S. Airman Battle Uniform, Army Combat Shirt, Improved Physical Fitness Uniform and Physical Training Uniform. Foam and polyester mattresses are also made in Puerto Rico. Employing more than 120 people who are blind or visually impaired, the Mayaguez location—which utilizes more than 80% of its building footprint of 24,000 square feet as manufacturing space—meets the rigorous international quality control requirements for ISO 9001 registration.

State-of-the-art cutting and ultra-sonic welding capabilities help position the IFB operation in Asheville, NC to capitalize on new and more complex commercial and government opportunities. As the U.S. military’s sole contract provider of army and marine poncho liners, the Asheville facility continues to expand and vary its manufacturing portfolio, producing flier’s kit bags, staplers, and an array of impulse merchandise sold to over 270 military grocery stores worldwide. Employing more than 50 people who are blind or visually impaired, the Asheville location is ISO 9001 certified, attesting to its internationally recognized achievement in quality control.

With core competencies in apparel manufacturing as well as product assembly and packaging, the IFB facility in Winston-Salem is responsible for a wide array of quality products, including military warm-up jackets, t-shirts, combat gear, various office supplies, mattresses and eyeglasses. Employing more than 200 people who are blind or visually impaired, the Winston-Salem location—utilizing 70,000 square feet of manufacturing space within a 120,000 square feet building—has fulfilled the international quality control requirements necessary to receive ISO 9001 registration. Winston-Salem also houses IFB’s nationally recognized high-tech optical services operation.
